NEW YORK, June 11 (UPI) -- Chase Utley's second solo homer of the game, coming as the lead-off batter in the 11th inning Wednesday, gave Philadelphia a 5-4 win over the New York Mets.
Utley's blast came after right fielder Jayson Werth made a diving catch in the 10th inning to prevent the Mets from scoring what would have been the winning run.
Utley boosted his home run total to 15, lifting the Phillies to 6-3 on their 10-game road trip. His first homer tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth, but New York scored three times in the bottom half of the inning on consecutive RBI singles from Mike Pelfrey, Luis Castillo and Alex Cora.
Philadelphia tied it with a three-run seventh, two of the runs being unearned due to a fielding error by third baseman David Wright.
Bobby Parnell (2-1) gave up Utley's homer in the 11th to take the loss. Chan Ho Park (2-1) earned the victory with two scoreless innings and Ryan Madson earned his third save.
The Mets managed only four runs on 16 hits.
