HOUSTON, June 10 (UPI) -- Geoff Blum looped a single to center that scored Miguel Tejada from third with one out in the ninth Wednesday, giving Houston a 2-1 win over the Chicago Cubs.
Geovany Soto homered in the second inning, but the Cubs could not score again while losing for the first time in three games.
Houston's Wandy Rodriguez and Chicago's Carlos Zambrano dueled to a 1-1 tie, but Houston quickly scored the winning run off Angel Guzman (2-1) .
Guzman came on in the ninth after Zambrano had given up just three hits over eight innings. He gave up a lead-off single to Tejada and walked Hunter Pence. Carlos Lee then flew out to center, moving Tajada to third. After Lance Berkman was intentionally walked to load the bases, Blum came through with his bloop hit on a 1-2 pitch.
Reliever Chris Sampson (3-0) got the victory by working the final two innings. He struck out Kosuke Fukudome with runners on first and third to end the eighth.
