BOSTON, June 10 (UPI) -- Boston's Josh Beckett gave up one hit in six innings in a 7-0 shutout of the Yankees that kept the Red Sox undefeated against their division rivals.

Beckett (7-2) struck out eight and walked two for the Red Sox, who are 6-0 against the New Yorkers and tied with them for first place in the American League East.

"He didn't walk people," observed Yankees manager Joe Girardi. "He had an outstanding fastball, a very good curveball and mixed in some changeups. He made it rough."

Beckett wasn't the only good news for Boston. Slumping slugger David Ortiz cracked his third home run of the season while J.D. Drew and Nick Green each drove in two runs.

Robinson Cano and Brett Gardner had the only two hits for the Yankees, although Mark Teixeira drew two walks. A.J. Burnett (4-3) took the loss after giving up five runs -- three earned -- on five hits and five walks in 2 2/3 innings.

Ortiz drove in two of the runs off Burnett by sending a fastball into the seats in center field to put Boston ahead 2-0 in the second inning. Drew followed up later in the inning with a two-run double off Fenway's Green Monster that made it 4-0.

The Red Sox added single runs in the third and fourth innings, and Green added the punctuation with a solo home run in the seventh off Jose Veras.
