LONDON, June 9 (UPI) -- Four-time champion Andy Roddick was among Tuesday's second-round winners at the $1 million Aegon Championships in London.
Roddick defeated Belgian Kristof Vliegen 6-1, 6-4. The American won this event from 2003-05 and again in 2007.
Roddick's potential third-round opponent could be fellow four-time champ Lleyton Hewitt. The two have combined for eight of the last nine championships.
In other action, Frenchman Gael Monfils beat Kazakhstan's Andrey Golubev 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (7-5); American James Blake eliminated Croat Ivan Ljubicic 6-2, 7-6 (7-4); and American Mardy Fish ousted Frenchman Michael Llodra 5-7, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3.
Also, Spaniard Feliciano Lopez won 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 7-6 (7-5) over Uzbekistan's Denis Istomin and American Sam Querrey defeated South African Kevin Anderson 7-5, 6-3.
