VIRGINIA WATER, England, June 8 (UPI) -- Tiger Woods's charge to the Memorial Tournament title strengthened his lead over No. 2-ranked Phil Mickelson Monday in the men's world golf rankings.

Woods was four strokes down at the start of play Sunday but still came away with his 67th PGA tournament title by one stroke over Jim Furyk.

Woods has been ranked No. 1 for the last 209 weeks but his lead had been slimming, mainly due to the long layoff caused by his knee surgery and rehabilitation. Mickelson's play has been limited lately also, as he's missed several tournaments since his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. He's to return to competition this week in Memphis, one week ahead of the U.S. Open.

The only change in the weekly Top 10 was caused by Furyk, whose runner-up finish to Woods shoved him from 14th to 10th.

Paul Casey is ranked third ahead of No. 4 Sergio Garcia and fifth-ranked Geoff Ogilvy. Henrik Stenson retained his No. 6 ranking with Kenny Perry at No. 7, Steve Stricker in eighth and Vijay Singh ninth.
