ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., June 8 (UPI) -- Svetlana Kuznetsova's French Open title moved her back into the Top 5 in the world in the women's tennis rankings released Monday.

Kuznetsova took out No. 1-ranked Dinara Safina in straight sets Saturday for her second major tournament title. She is the only player to have beaten Safina since Safina took over the No. 1 ranking in April.

The win moved Kuznetsova, who reached No. 2 in the rankings in September 2007 when she placed second in the U.S. Open, to No. 5 in the world.

The top of the list remained the same as the pre-French Open rankings with Safina No. 1 followed by, in order, Serena Williams, Venus Williams and Elena Dementieva.

There has been grousing, notably by former No. 1 Justine Henin, about whether Safina deserves her top ranking since she's yet to win a major tournament. However, she's got enough ratings points to keep her at the top spot for several weeks at the least.

Jelena Jankovic slipped from fifth to sixth behind Kuznetsova with Vera Zvonareva going from sixth to seventh. Victoria Azarenka move up one spot to eighth and No. 9 Caroline Wozniacki and 10-ranked Nadia Petrova also improved one spot.
