LONDON, June 8 (UPI) -- Roger Federer's 14th Grand Slam title didn't dislodge top-ranked Rafael Nadal but the runner-up French Open finish for Robin Soderling caused a big rating move.

Nadal lost a fourth-round-match to Soderling in the French Open, one of four Soderling victories over top 14-ranked players en route to the title match. As a result Soderling jumped from 25th in the world to a career-best 12th.

Federer, who lost to Nadal in each of the last three French Open championship matches, defeated Soderling in straight sets Sunday for his 14th Grand Slam championship, tying him with Pete Sampras for the most in men's tennis.

But he's still stuck with that No. 2 ranking, more than 2,000 ratings points behind Nadal and about 2,000 points over third-ranked Andy Murray.

Novak Djokovic remained ranked fourth followed by, No. 5 Juan Martin del Potro and sixth-ranked Andy Roddick. Gilles Simon kept the No. 7 ranking with Fernando Verdasco eighth and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga ninth.

The only change in the Top 10 was in the final spot where Fernando Gonzalez, who made it to the French Open semifinals, improved two slots from No. 12. Gael Monfils, who was 10th in the previous listing, fell four positions this week.
