
OAKLAND, Calif., June 7 (UPI) -- Rookie Vin Mazzaro pitched 7 1/3 shutout innings in his second major league start Sunday when the Oakland A's beat Baltimore 3-0 for their sixth straight win.
Mazzaro (2-0) allowed only five hits and struck out four without issuing a walk. He won his major league debut Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox when he gave up three hits and four walks without a run in 6 1/3 innings.
Jason Giambi walked with the bases loaded and Kurt Suzuki and Bobby Crosby each had an RBI for the Athletics. Orlando Cabrera and Adam Kennedy both singled for Oakland's only hits.
Adam Jones and Robert Andino each had two hits for Baltimore, which has lost seven of its last eight.
Rich Hill (2-1) took the loss after lasting only two-thirds of an inning after allowing three runs on one hit with four walks.
