WASHINGTON, June 6 (UPI) -- John Lannan had a four-hitter Saturday in his first career complete game and the Washington Nationals made five double plays to beat the New York Mets 7-1.

Nick Johnson was 3-for-4 with a three-run homer for Washington, which won for just the second time in its last 11 games. Elijah Dukes added three hits, including a solo homer, and Adam Dunn hit a two-run homer for the Nationals.

Lannan (3-5) won for the first time in five starts. The only run he allowed was unearned.

David Wright, Fernando Tatis, Omir Santos and Emil Brown had the four New York hits -- all singles -- as the Mets lost for the fourth time in five games.

The five twin killings ties the Mets franchise record for most double plays hit into in a nine-inning game.

John Maine (5-4) was the loser after allowing seven runs on six hits in four-plus innings.
