OAKLAND, Calif., June 6 (UPI) -- Jack Cust and Matt Holliday both hit three-run homers Friday, sending the Oakland A's rolling to their fourth straight victory, a 9-1 win over Baltimore.
It is the longest winning streak of the season for the Athletics, who began things with a six-run first and coasted behind a seven-inning outing from Dallas Braden (5-5) -- who had won just one of his previous six starts, but held the Orioles to a run on five hits, striking out seven and walking none.
Baltimore starter Jeremy Guthrie (4-5) retired only two batters, giving up six runs on seven hits.
Oakland had a 3-0 lead after just 10 pitches in the first. Orlando Cabrera and Adam Kennedy both singled and Cust followed with his ninth home run of the season. The Athletics added three more runs in the inning, two of them coming on a single by Aaron Cunningham.
Holliday's homer came in the fifth inning off Mark Hendrickson.
Baltimore lost its third straight and its fifth in six games.
