CINCINNATI, June 6 (UPI) -- Adam Rosales pinch-hit a chopper to third to score Jay Bruce in the bottom of the 11th Saturday, giving the Cincinnati Reds a 4-3 win over the Chicago Cubs.
Bruce opened the 11th with a walk from Sean Marshall. A wild pitch sent Bruce to second and Alex Gonzalez's sacrifice bunt put the runner on third. After Ryan Hanigan walked, Rosales chopped the first pitch. Cubs' third baseman Mike Fontenot fielded the ball cleanly but had no clear throwing lane to catcher Geovany Soto and was forced to throw the ball high.
Bruce scored standing up to end the game.
Marshall (3-5) pitched the final 1 1/3 innings for the Cubs and took the loss.
Winner Nick Masset (3-0) did not allow a run over the final two innings for the Reds.
Ramon Hernandez hit a two-run homer for Cincinnati, who got only three hits after the second inning.
