SAN DIEGO, June 6 (UPI) -- Doug Davis was dominant in a six-inning stint Friday and the Arizona Diamondbacks used a 13-hit attack to breeze past struggling San Diego 8-0.

After winning 10 in a row, the Padres have lost seven out of nine and failed to challenge any of the four Arizona pitchers they faced Friday.

Davis (3-6) had not won any of his previous six starts, the last two resulting in no decision. Nevertheless, he limited the Padres to three hits while striking out five and walking four.

Three relievers combined to give up a hit and strike out three over the final three innings.

Chris Young delivered the first Arizona run with a homer in the second and the Diamondbacks broke things open with a four-run fifth against starter Chad Gaudin (2-4).

Felipe Lopez produced a one-out single in the fifth and scored on a double by Gerardo Parra. Justin Upton fanned for the second out of the inning, but Parra went to third on a wild pitch, Stephen Drew walked and Mark Reynolds singled to drive in Parra.

Reynolds stole second, putting two runners in scoring position, and they both scored on a single by Chris Snyder.

Snyder added a third RBI with a ninth-inning base hit.
