MLB: LA Angels 6, Toronto 5

TORONTO, June 4 (UPI) -- Erick Aybar's ninth-inning double-play ground out Thursday lifted the LA Angels to a 6-5 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.

The non-RBI ground out broke a 5-5 tie, scoring Howie Kendrick from third base with none out in the top of the ninth.

LA's Vladimir Guerrero, Torri Hunter and Chone Figgins all had two hits and one RBI.

Juan Rivera and Mike Napoli had one RBI each for the Angels, who won twice in the three-game series.

The winner was reliever Justin Speier (2-1) after starter John Lackey yielded two earned runs and seven hits in seven innings with three walks and six strikeouts.

Closer Brian Fuentes earned his 14th save.

Toronto's Lyle Overbay had two hits and three RBI.

Aaron Hill and Marco Scutaro had one RBI apiece, while Adam Lind had five hits in five at-bats for the Blue Jays, who have lost three of four.

The losing pitcher was reliever Brandon League (1-2).
