2009 NHL Stanley Cup Final Detroit Red Wings vs.Pittsburgh Penguins

DETROIT, June 2 (UPI) -- Sergei Gonchar's goal midway through the third period broke a 2-2 tie and Pittsburgh took a 4-2 win from Detroit Tuesday in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Maxime Talbot had his second goal of the game on an empty net in the final minute. He also scored in opening period along with Kris Letang for Pittsburgh, which now trails the best-of-seven series 2-1.

Pittsburgh goalie Marc-Andre Fleury made 27 saves, 14 in the second period.

Henrik Zetterberg and Johan Franzen scored for the Red Wings, who are attempting to successfully defend their Stanley Cup title. Detroit goaltender Chris Osgood allowed three goals on 20 shots.

The two teams will play Game 4 Thursday in Detroit.
