ORLANDO, Fla., June 2 (UPI) -- Orlando point guard Jameer Nelson practiced with the team Tuesday for the first time since injuring his right shoulder in February.
Nelson was thought to be out for the season after having shoulder surgery Feb. 19, but he's made progress in his rehabilitation.
Several Magic players believe Nelson will be available for their NBA Finals series, which starts Thursday against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Orlando Sun Sentinel reported Magic Coach Stan Van Gundy indicated he'd make a decision after Wednesday's practice in Los Angeles.
Nelson last played in a game Feb. 2 and originally was ruled out for the rest of the regular season and the playoffs. At the time of his surgery his rehabilitation was estimated at four to six months.
