CHICAGO, June 2 (UPI) -- Matt Holliday had a three-run double Tuesday, helping Vin Mazzaro win his major league debut, a 5-0 Oakland pasting of the Chicago White.
Mazzaro (1-0), who was called up from Class AAA Sacramento earlier in the day, pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings. The 22-year-old right-hander allowed three hits and four walks.
Jack Cust had a solo homer and two RBI for the Athletics.
Chicago's Bartolo Colon (3-5) gave up five runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings. Jermaine Dye and Jayson Nix each had a pair of hits for the White Sox, who had a four-game winning streak halted.
