NEW YORK, June 1 (UPI) -- First basemen Ryan Howard of Philadelphia and Adrian Gonzalez of San Diego were named Monday co-National League Players of the Week.

The two tied for the league lead with four home runs, 10 RBI and a 1.000 slugging percentage.

Howard finished the week batting .333, adding a pair of doubles, a triple and 24 total bases. He had two multi-home-run games and he hit the eighth grand slam of his career Saturday to top Mike Schmidt for most in franchise history.

Gonzalez had a .500 on-base percentage and homered in four of his six games last week, including three-run blasts against Colorado last Saturday and Sunday. His final homer of the week was his major-league best 20th of the season.
