FOXBOROUGH, Mass., May 30 (UPI) -- Steve Ralston scored on a penalty in the 89th minute Saturday to lead the New England Revolution to a 2-1 win over D.C. United.

The Revolution improved to 3-3-4 with their first victory since April 4.

Ralston's third goal this season was the second given up after a penalty by United backup goalkeeper Josh Wicks and ended United's seven-game unbeaten streak.

New England's Taylor Twellman failed to score his 100th career goal.

D.C.'s goal in its first loss since April 11 was scored by Fred in the 36th minute.

United fell to 3-2-7.
