SAN FRANCISCO, May 30 (UPI) -- Matt Cain gave up two runs in 6 1/3 innings Friday and won his fourth straight decision, helping bring the San Francisco Giants a 4-2 victory over St. Louis.

The Cardinals lost for the first time in three games and fell back into a tie with Milwaukee atop the National League Central.

Cain (6-1) struck out five and allowed six hits before leaving with one on and one out in the seventh.

St. Louis did not manage a single base runner against three relievers, with Brian Wilson working the ninth for his 11th save.

Pablo Sandoval drove in the first two San Francisco runs with a first-inning single and the Giants scored twice more in the fourth when Fred Lewis tripled in a run. Lewis then came in on a single by Emmanuel Burriss.

Joel Pineiro (5-5) took the loss, giving up the four runs on six hits in four innings.

The Cardinals scored two in the sixth when Colby Rasmus drove in Albert Pujols with an RBI single and Ryan Ludwick scored when Emmanuel Burriss committed a throwing error.
