MLB: Detroit 6, Baltimore 3

BALTIMORE, May 30 (UPI) -- Clete Thomas went 3-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI Saturday to lead the Detroit Tigers to a 6-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles.

Curtis Granderson added a solo homer and two runs for the Tigers.

Justin Verlander (6-2) gave up three runs on nine hits in six innings for the win. Fernando Rodney recorded the final three outs to earn his ninth save.

Luke Scott hit a two-run homer and Nolan Reimold singled home the other run for the Orioles, who saw their five-game win streak end.

Matt Albers (0-2) allowed three runs on four hits in 1 1/3 relief innings. Baltimore starter Jeremy Guthrie struck out 10 in six innings.
