MLS: Columbus 2, San Jose 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 27 (UPI) -- Guillermo Barros Schelotto scored the go-ahead goal early in the second half Wednesday, giving Columbus a 2-1 win over San Jose.

Schelotto took a pass from Emmanuel Ekpo and produced his sixth goal of the season. Columbus improved to 2-2-6 while handing the Earthquakes their seventh loss in 10 games.

Columbus has not lost since April 4, having won twice and tied four matches since then.

San Jose opened the scoring in the 23rd minute on Ryan Johnson's fifth goal of the campaign. Eddie Gaven tied it six minutes later with a header off a feed from Eric Brunner.
