SAN FRANCISCO, May 27 (UPI) -- Tim Lincecum continued his mastery of Atlanta Tuesday, blanking the Braves for eight innings in a 4-0 San Francisco victory.
Lincecum, (4-1) is 5-0 lifetime against Atlanta. This night he scattered five hits and two walks while striking out eight. It took him 122 pitches.
Bob Howry retired the side in order in the ninth to put the game to bed.
The Giants' offense came in the form of a two-run double by Aaron Rowand and a two-run single by Edgar Renteria in the second inning
Rookie Kris Medlen (0-2) gave up four runs in 5 1/3 innings for Atlanta.
Atlanta got runners in scoring position in the first two innings and the seventh, but couldn't score.
