CHICAGO, May 27 (UPI) -- Reed Johnson's solo homer Wednesday started a three-run eighth inning and helped the Chicago Cubs record a 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Johnson's lone hit, his second RBI, and second homer this season, broke a 2-2 tie with one out in the bottom of the inning.

Andres Blanco, Milton Bradley and pinch-hitter Jake Fox all had one RBI and Ryan Theriot had three of the 12 hits for the Cubs, who have won two in a row.

The winner was reliever Carlos Marmol (1-1).

Starter Carlos Zambrano failed to record his 100th career victory because he was ejected for his tirade when Morgan scored after his wild pitch.

He yielded two runs and seven hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Ramon Vazquez led Pittsburgh with three hits and one RBI.

One run scored on Zambrano's seventh-inning wild pitch and Nyjer Morgan added two hits for the Pirates, have lost five of seven.

The losing pitcher was reliever Jesse Chavez (0-2).
