KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 26 (UPI) -- Zack Greinke pitched his fifth complete game of the season and Mitch Maier had three RBI Tuesday in Kansas City's 6-1 win over Detroit.

Despite allowing just one run on six hits, Greinke (8-1) actually saw his earned-run average rise to a still-stingy 0.84. The right-hander struck out eight and did not walk a batter. Greinke has given up two earned runs or fewer in each of his 10 outings this season.

Jose Guillen had a home run and two RBI for Kansas City, which won for just the fifth time in its last 17 games.

Placido Polanco had two hits and scored the lone run for the Tigers, who have lost three of four.

Edwin Jackson (4-3) gave up four runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings to take the loss.
