MINNEAPOLIS, May 25 (UPI) -- Kevin Youkilis had two doubles and two RBI and Jeff Bailey hit a solo homer Monday to lift the Boston Red Sox to a 6-5 win over the Minnesota Twins.

Jason Bay added a two-run double and Dustin Pedroia had three hits and two runs for the Red Sox, who won the fifth time in their last seven games and ended the Twins' four-game win streak.

Jacoby had two hits to extend his hitting streak to 20 games and Mike Lowell went 4-for-5 with an RBI.

Winner Brad Penny (5-1) allowed three runs on six hits with seven strikeouts and no walks.

Joe Mauer had a two-run, pinch-hit homer for the Twins. Michael Cuddyer added a solo homer and Justin Morneau an RBI double. Losing pitcher Francisco Liriano (2-6) gave up five runs on 11 hits in four innings with seven strikeouts and no walks.

Mauer, the defending American League batting champ, now has 11 homers and is hitting .444 since starting the season late (May 2) because of a sore back. His major league career best is 13 in 2006.
