ST. LOUIS, May 23 (UPI) -- Kyle Lohse yielded four hits in eight scoreless innings Saturday to guide the St. Louis Cardinals to a second straight 5-0 win over the Kansas City Royals.

It gave the Cardinals five wins in a row.

Lohse (4-3) did not walk a batter and fanned six in 98 pitches.

He never allowed more than one base runner in any inning.

Lohse had lost his three previous starts.

Nick Stavinoha hit a two-run first-inning double.

One of two hits for Skip Schumaker was a second-inning solo homer.

Both Colby Rasmus and Tyler Greene had one RBI, while Yadier Molina added two hits for the Cardinals, whose pitchers have yielded just two runs during the winning streak.

Miguel Olivo had two of the five hits for the Royals, who have dropped their last four games.

Losing pitcher Luke Hochevar (0-2) gave up four earned runs and seven hits in 6 1/3 innings.
