NEW YORK, May 22 (UPI) -- Raul Ibanez hit one of four Philadelphia homers Friday and the Phillies ended New York's nine-game winning streak by out-slugging the Yankees 7-3.
Ibanez hit a solo shot in the seventh, running his major-league leading total to 16.
Jimmy Rollins started the long ball barrage with a solo shot in the first, Carlos Ruiz contributed a two-run homer in the second and Jayson Werth also had a two-run blast in the fifth.
All of the New York runs came on solo homers by Alex Rodriguez in the sixth and both Derek Jeter and Mark Teixeira in the eighth.
Brett Myers (4-2) gave up all of the New York home runs, but allowed just five others hits, struck out five and did not walk a batter over eight innings. It was his fourth win in five decisions.
The Phillies won for the seventh time in eight games and have the best road record in the majors at 15-5.
Three of the Philadelphia home runs came off A.J. Burnett (2-2), who surrendered five runs overall on eight hits in six innings He is winless in his last seven starts.
New York had been trying for its first 10-game winning streak in four seasons. The Yankees came into the game leading the majors with 66 homers and the Phillies were No. 1 in the National League with 56. There have been 82 home runs hit in 21 games played at the new Yankee Stadium.
