MLB: Minnesota 20, Chi. White Sox 1

CHICAGO, May 21 (UPI) -- Joe Mauer hit a grand slam among three hits and six RBI to power Minnesota's 20-1 pasting of the Chicago White Sox.

The former AL batting champion hit the grand slam with two outs in a six-run sixth after a sacrifice fly and an RBI double.

Matt Tolbert had three hits -- one a seventh-inning three-run homer, his first -- and four RBI.

Jason Kubel had three hits and two RBI. Michael Cuddyer added four hits -- one a three-run second inning homer while Joe Crede also homered.

Jose Morales had three runs and three hits, while Denard Span added two runs and two hits for the Twins, who obliterated a six-game losing streak with their highest run output this season.

The winner was starter Nick Blackburn (3-2).

Chicago scored on Carlos Quentin's eighth-inning single.

Brian Anderson had three hits for the White Sox, who suffered the worst loss in franchise history.

The losing pitcher was starter Bartolo Colon (2-4).
