
KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 19 (UPI) -- Mike Jacobs and Mark Teahen had back-to-back homers in a four-run ninth Tuesday to lead the Kansas City Royals to a 6-5 win over Cleveland.
Cleveland closer Kerry Wood (1-2) had a three-run lead in the ninth. But Jacobs and Teahen cut the margin to one. David DeJesus had an RBI triple to tie the game and Willie Bloomquist followed with a sacrifice fly to score DeJesus.
Royals starter Brian Bannister allowed five runs on nine hits in six innings. Kyle Farnsworth (1-3) got the victory after pitching a scoreless inning.
Cleveland starter Cliff Lee allowed two runs on eight hits with no walks in eight innings. Kelly Shoppach had a home run for the Indians, who took their fourth straight loss to fall to an American League worst 14-26.
