NEW YORK, May 17 (UPI) -- Johnny Damon's bottom of the 10th inning homer Sunday lifted the New York Yankees to a 3-2 victory against the Minnesota Twins.
The Yankees increased their winning streak to five straight and won during their final at-bat for the third game in a row.
With one out in the bottom of the 10th, Damon's third hit and 10th homer this season made a loser of Minnesota reliever Jesse Crain (2-2).
The homer was Damon's first game-winner in a Yankee uniform.
Alex Rodriguez led off the seventh with a solo shot, his 211th for the Yankees, while Melky Cabrera had one RBI and Derek Jeter added two hits.
The winner was Alfredo Aceves (2-0).
Starter A.J. Burnett gave up two earned runs and six hits in 6 2/3 innings with six walks and seven strikeouts.
Matt Tolbert had one RBI and one run scored on Burnett's seventh-inning wild pitch for the Twins, who have lost three in a row after a three-game winning streak.
