
MIAMI, May 17 (UPI) -- Clayton Kershaw hurled seven hitless innings Sunday to pace the Los Angeles Dodgers' 12-5 rout of the Florida Marlins.
His no-hit bid ended when Cody Ross led off the bottom of the eighth with a double.
Kershaw (2-3) yielded one earned run and one hit in seven innings with four walks and nine strikeouts.
Juan Pierre and Mark Loretta led Los Angeles with three hits and three RBI apiece. Orlando Hudson knocked in two, while Juan Castro scored four times with two hits and one RBI for the Dodgers, who have won four of five.
Ross led Florida with two hits -- the other a ninth-inning grand slam.
Emilio Bonifacio knocked in a run for the Marlins, who had only four hits and have lost six of seven.
Losing pitcher John Koronka (0-2) gave up six runs -- four earned -- and four hits in 2 2/3 innings. His outing was sabotaged by four walks and two key errors.
