MINNEAPOLIS, May 14 (UPI) -- Joe Crede's two-run single capped a six-run seventh inning Thursday and gave the Minnesota Twins a 6-5 win over the Detroit Tigers.
The win completed a three-game sweep.
Minnesota faced a 5-0 deficit before four others knocked in one apiece and Crede's lone hit was the game-winner with two outs off losing pitcher Bobby Seay (0-1).
Jason Kubel had three hits and one RBI, while Denard Span had a run and two hits for the Twins, who have won five of six.
The winner was reliever Craig Breslow (1-1).
Closer Joe Nathan earned his sixth save with a 1-2-3 ninth.
Clete Thomas and Magglio Ordonez drove in two runs each in Detroit's five-run sixth.
Ramon Santiago had two hits and one RBI, and Adam Everett added a run and two hits for the Tigers, who had swept three at Cleveland.
Detroit starter Justin Verlander surrendered two earned runs and five hits in 6 1/3 innings with three walks and 13 strikeouts.
