RALEIGH, N.C., May 12 (UPI) -- Mark Recchi and Chuck Kobasew each had a goal and an assist Tuesday and the Boston Bruins beat Carolina 4-2 to tie the Eastern Conference semifinals at 3-3.

Boston goalie Tim Thomas made 31 saves.

Matt Cullen and Sergei Samsonov scored for the Hurricanes, who will be playing their second consecutive Game 7 in these playoffs. In the first round, against New Jersey, Carolina scored twice in the final 80 seconds of regulation.
