PITTSBURGH, May 12 (UPI) -- Brandon Moss was 3-for-4 with a two-run homer Tuesday to help the Pittsburgh Pirates end an eight-game losing streak with a 7-1 win over St. Louis.

Adam LaRoche hit a solo homer and Nyjer Morgan had a pair of hits, including a two-run triple, for Pittsburgh, which won for just the second time in its last 14 games.

Zach Duke (4-3) allowed just one run on four hits in eight innings. That run came on an Albert Pujols homer in the opening inning.

It was Duke's first win since April 25 at San Diego, when he gave up one run in 8 1/3 innings.

St. Louis has won only three of its last nine games.

Todd Wellemeyer (3-3) was charged with the loss after giving up seven runs on nine hits in 4 1/3 innings.
