Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

NEW YORK, May 12 (UPI) -- Carlos Beltran walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th Tuesday to give the New York Mets a 4-3 win over the Atlanta Braves.
Jose Reyes had a two-out single and scored in the 10th when Jeff Bennett (0-1) walked the next three batters.
Reyes had two RBI for the Mets. Beltran was 2-for-4 with an RBI and pinch-hitter Luis Castillo tied the game in the ninth with a sacrifice fly.
Mets starter Mike Pelfrey gave up two runs on six hits in seven innings. Francisco Rodriguez (1-0) pitched a scoreless ninth and 10th for the win.
Brian McCann went 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Braves, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.
