ESTORIL, Portugal, May 10 (UPI) -- Albert Montanes of Spain beat a tired James Blake in three sets Sunday to capture the men's Estoril Open tennis title in Estoril, Portugal.
The scores of the nearly 2 1/2 hour match were 5-7, 7-6 (7-6), 6-0.
Montanes, the seventh seed, saved two match points at 4-5 in the second set and blitzed the fourth seed in the third.
Montanes also saved a match point against top-seeded Gilles Simon of France in a 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) quarterfinal victory on Friday.
He is the first player to save at least one match point in two different matches in Estoril.
Blake, of the United States, was fatigued after earlier beating Russia's Nikolay Davydenko 6-7 (3-7), 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 in the conclusion of a semifinal that was suspended because of darkness late Saturday.
Montanes collected $95,000, while Blake was appearing in his first final this season, the 23rd in his career.
