MLS: Columbus 3, Kansas City 2

COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 10 (UPI) -- Second-half goals by Guillermo Barros Schelotto and Eddie Gaven Saturday helped the Columbus Crew pull out a 3-2 win over Kansas City.

The victory was the first of the season for the Crew (1-2-5), which had opened its defense of the MLS Cup with two losses and five ties. Emmanuel Ekpo also scored for Columbus, opening the scoring with a goal in the 38th minute.

Claudio Lopez and Josh Wolff scored for the Wizards (3-4-2).

The Wizards narrowed the Crew's lead to 3-2 on Wolff's goal in the 79th minute, but never came any closer the rest of the night.
