MLB: LA Dodgers 8, San Francisco 0

LOS ANGELES, May 9 (UPI) -- Southpaw Eric Stults hurled a complete-game four-hit shutout Saturday, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to an 8-0 rout of the San Francisco Giants.

The Dodgers stopped a two-game skid that began after Major League Baseball announced a 50-game suspension of outfielder Manny Ramirez Thursday for using a banned performance-enhancing drug.

Stults (4-1) fanned five and did not walk any batters in 123 pitches.

The only run he needed scored on Andre Ethier's double-play groundout with none out in the bottom of the first. Stults also hit an eighth-inning RBI single.

Juan Pierre -- who took over Ramirez's spot in left field -- led LA's offense with three hits and three RBI. Juan Castro had three hits and two RBI.

Matt Kemp -- who saved the shutout with a diving ninth-inning catch on Randy Winn's deep fly to center field following Edgar Renteria's leadoff double -- added a fifth-inning RBI single.

Losing pitcher Jonathan Sanchez (1-3) surrendered five earned runs and six hits in five innings with four walks and four strikeouts.

Emmanuel Burriss had two of San Francisco's four hits.
