DARLINGTON, S.C., May 9 (UPI) -- Matt Kenseth finished off a big day Friday by capturing the Diamond Hill Plywood 200 Nationwide Series race at Darlington Raceway.

Earlier in the day, Kenseth had captured the pole for Saturday's Southern 500. He then took advantage of tire problems suffered by Kyle Busch, who had dominated the race.

Busch had to pit with a cut right rear tire during the 10th caution of the night and Kenseth took the lead en route to his first Nationwide victory of the season. He has won 25 Nationwide races in his career, the fifth most ever in NASCAR's secondary series.

Jason Leffler finished second, followed by Carl Edwards and Erik Darnell. Busch wound up 16th after leading for 143 laps.
