EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., May 8 (UPI) -- Jorge Rojas scored twice Friday, boosting the New York Red Bulls to a 4-1 victory over San Jose.
It was just the second win of the MLS season for the Red Bulls, who scored all of their goals in the first 40 minutes and got tallies from Juan Pablo Angel and Macoumba Kanji.
New York (2-5-2) moved out of last place in the Eastern Conference, three points ahead of Columbus.
Rojas beat goalkeeper Joe Cannon with a free kick in the seventh minute and scored again six minutes later off a feed from Kandji.
Kandji also set up Angel for New York's third goal in the 22nd minute.
