MILWAUKEE, May 8 (UPI) -- Ryan Braun brought Milwaukee from behind with a two-run homer in the eighth Friday and the Brewers went on to edge the Chicago Cubs 3-2.
Chicago owned a 2-1 lead going into the Milwaukee eighth and the Cubs called on Aaron Heilman (2-2) to protect it. Heilman, however, walked Corey Hart to open the inning and Braun followed by hitting a 1-0 pitch out to right.
Trevor Hoffman then struck out two of the three men he faced in the ninth for his fifth save, making a winner out of reliever Mitch Stetter (2-0).
Stetter threw only two pitches in a bases-loaded situation in the eighth to record the final out of the inning.
Chicago lost for just the second time in eight games.
Milton Bradley hit a solo homer for the Cubs in the fifth and Alfonso Soriano had a sacrifice fly in the sixth to make it 2-0.
J.J. Hardy brought the Brewers within one with a solo shot in the sixth.
