NEW YORK, May 7 (UPI) -- The NBA suspended Los Angeles Lakers guard Derek Fisher and Orlando Magic guard Rafer Alston for one game Thursday for actions in their separate playoff series.
Fisher was called for a flagrant foul and ejected with 13 seconds left in the third quarter of the Lakers' 111-98 win over Houston Wednesday. Fisher lunged backward and threw an elbow into Luis Scola, who fell hard to the floor.
Fisher will have to sit out the third game of the series in Houston Friday. The Lakers and Rockets are tied 1-1.
Alston was suspended for swinging and making contact with the head of Boston's Eddie House late in the third quarter of the Magic's 112-94 loss Wednesday. He will not play in Game 3 Friday in Orlando. That series is also deadlocked at a game each.
