SAN DIEGO, May 6 (UPI) -- The San Diego Padres ended their six-game winless string Tuesday when Brian Giles drove a long RBI double in the 10th inning that beat Colorado 2-1.

Giles and Adrian Gonzalez each had two hits for the Padres and Josh Greer went eight strong innings, allowing five hits, before giving way to closer Heath Bell (1-0), who pitched the final two innings, striking out four.

Colorado's Matt Daley (0-1) took the loss after starter Aaron Cook gave up five hits over eight innings.

Daley walked Gonzalez to start the 10th and then went to a full count on Giles, who nearly hit the eighth pitch of the at-bat out of Petco Park.

The Padres had taken a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a bases-loaded sacrifice fly by Jody Gerut.

The Rockies tied the score 1-1 when Chris Iannetta led off the eighth with his sixth home run of the season and second in two days.
