CNN suspends Martin for Super Bowl tweets
IRVING , Texas, May 5 (UPI) -- The Dallas Cowboys failed to have inspectors examine a high-tension fabric roof that collapsed and injured 12 people in Irving, Texas, city documents show.
The Cowboys registered as the general contractor for $600,000 worth of reroofing performed last year but didn't have city officials inspect the work, as required by Irving's building code, The Dallas Morning News reported Tuesday. Team officials declined to answer questions about the roof work.
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating what caused the 85-foot-tall structure to collapse Saturday. The National Weather Service said the building was hit by winds gusting to 70 mph during passing thunderstorms.
An estimated 70 people, including players and coaches, were inside. Among the injured was scouting assistant Rich Behm, who was permanently paralyzed from the waist down by a spine fracture, the News reported.
