Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

CHICAGO, May 5 (UPI) -- Bengie Molina hit a three-run homer Tuesday, sparking the San Francisco Giants' 6-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs.
Aaron Rowand drove in two runs with a double for the Giants, who have won 10 of their last 14 games. Molina, Edgar Renteria and Rich Aurilia each had two hits and two runs scored.
Tim Lincecum (3-1) gave up two runs on four hits and struck out seven in seven innings for the win.
Chicago starter Sean Marshall (0-2) gave up five runs on eight hits over seven-plus innings.
Marshall had an RBI single and Mike Fontenot also drove in a run for the Cubs.
