MLB: New York Mets 4, Atlanta 3

ATLANTA, May 5 (UPI) -- Carlos Delgado hit a two-run single in the top of the ninth Tuesday to give the New York Mets a 4-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves.

Ramon Castro was 3-for-5 with an RBI and David Wright had two hits, scored once and drove in a run for the Mets, who have won three of their last four games.

Livan Hernandez (2-1) was the winning pitcher after giving up just one run on seven hits with two walks in 6 1/3 innings.

Atlanta's Yunel Escobar was 3-for-5 with an RBI. Kenshin Kawakami (1-4) took the loss after allowing two runs on eight hits with three walks and seven strikeouts in five innings for the Braves, who have lost four straight and seven of their last nine games.
