Tommie Harris' wife dies

DETROIT, May 5 (UPI) -- Miguel Cabrera had a homer and four RBI, and Rick Porcello pitched seven shutout innings Tuesday in a 9-0 Detroit whitewashing of Minnesota.
Clete Thomas was 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored, and Curtis Granderson had a solo home run for the Tigers.
Porcello (2-3) allowed only four hits with three strikeouts for Detroit, which has won three of its last four games.
Jason Kubel was 3-for-4 for the Twins, who have lost three of their last four games. Minnesota starting pitcher Nick Blackburn (2-2) allowed nine runs on eight hits in 3 1/3 innings.
