Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

CHICAGO, May 4 (UPI) -- Ryan Theriot hit a two-run homer Monday to lead the Chicago Cubs to a 4-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants.
Geovany Soto and Reed Johnson each had an RBI for the Cubs, who have won four straight.
Ryan Dempster (2-1) gave up two runs on five hits with two walks and seven strikeouts to get the victory.
Pablo Sandoval had two hits and an RBI and Bengie Molina drove in the other run for the Giants, who have lost two of their last three games.
Jonathan Sanchez (1-2) was the loser after allowing four runs on five hits with six walks and six strikeouts in four-plus innings.
