NHL: Anaheim 4, Detroit 3 (3 OT)

DETROIT, May 3 (UPI) -- Todd Marchant's goal early in the third overtime Sunday gave the Anaheim Ducks a 4-3 win over Detroit, evening their semifinal playoff series at a game apiece.

Marchant skated down the left side and rifled a wrist shot into the top right corner of the net 75 seconds into the period.

Anaheim goaltender Jonas Hiller emerged with the victory, turning back 59 shots by Detroit's sharpshooters.

Ryan Getzlaf, Chris Pronger and Ryan Carter scored in regulation for the Ducks, seeded eighth in the Western Conference.

Brad Stuart, Mikael Samuelsson and Johan Franzen notched the Red Wings' goals.

Chris Osgood had 42 saves for the defending Stanley Cup champion Red Wings.
