Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

DENVER, May 3 (UPI) -- Denver, led by Nene with 24 points and Carmelo Anthony with 23, went on a 19-4 fourth-quarter run Sunday en route to a 109-95 playoff win over Dallas.
The Nuggets took a 1-0 lead in the Western Conference semifinal series.
Leading by just 82-80, Denver began the game-winning spurt early in the final quarter.
The Nuggets hit 54.8 percent of their field goals and forced the Mavs into 20 turnovers.
J.R. Smith finished with 15 points and Anthony Carter added 12 for Denver.
Dirk Nowitzki scored 28 points and Jason Terry, Jason Kidd and Josh Howard each tallied 15 for the Mavericks.
Game 2 is set for Tuesday in Denver.
